We haven’t seen the film yet, but apparently the song ‘Day of reckoning for who?’ has been very well placed. The song was produced by OneBarThorsten. The film is currently being shown at various independent film festivals.

Danish Dynamite, that’s what to expect from this new old band. From the point of view of the music-world and fans, the four protagonists are old acquaintances, because they all have decades of stage experience. Together again, they’re no loudmouths, yet still they clearly know what they want and where their music is headed. Like old red wine or whiskey that gets better and better taste-wise over the years. During the 80s, vocalist Kent Nielsen and guitarist Lars M. Thomsen played together in the Hardcore Punk band LEBEN UND LEBEN LASSEN (L.U.L.L.), which toured Europe several times and became quite well known. Drummer Francis Nørgaard Jensen, used to play funk metal with KINKY BOOT BEAST, while bassist Jonny Paw played hard metal thrash for SLICED PIMPLES at the end of the 80s. So all four gained extensive live experience. 12 year ago FREAKLINERS came together, but apparently it wasn’t the right time back then, because their first existence only lasted for one concert. Now they ride again, musically much more thrilling and mature. FREAKLINERS are currently working on new songs for a planned album in Copenhagen. Besides the new material, the current set of songs consists of a handful of L.U.L.L. songs from all phases of the band, plus one or two cover songs. When you listen to “Don’t wanna know if you’re lonely” by Hüsker Dü, as an outsider you are automatically struck by the level of musical skill and knowledge. For the four members of FREAKLINERS, the focus is clearly based on writing new music, but as long as it’s fun playing the old songs, they are always happy to do so. Live, the band will concentrate on Northern Germany and Scandinavia for the time being. Stay tuned, something wicked this way come… (Text: Helge Schreiber)
Read moreJoszi wrote the song a year ago, two months after Putin started the war against Ukraine and when it slowly became clear that it would last a very long time. Now the production of this song and then the video also took a very long time – but Russia is still at war with Ukraine. And unfortunately we have the impression that people in Germany are getting more and more used to it after the initial horror. Hence this video. “As a songwriter, I want to make a small contribution to not accepting this war as “normal”, but to perceive it for what it is: a crime against humanity and against peaceful coexistence in Europe.” Feat. Ingrid Gößmann on harmonica, Helge Lamm on whistle and Kent Nielsen and Totti Scharfenberg from Ukes Of Tomorrow on ukulele and mandolin.

UKES OF TOMORROW – new album „Seconds Of Our Lives“
Cranking the volume up to 11 isn’t hard to do. Ukes of Tomorrow pull the plug and offer a different kind of “acoustic evening”. But, although people will be stunned at their interpretations of classics by; The Jam, Joy Division or Sisters Of Mercy, the duo is now increasingly digging for deeper and not quite so obvious tracks from the back catalogues of; TV Smith, Big Country, Bob Mould, Joe Strummer, The Pogues, Kalashnikov, The Damned or The Descendents – to name just a few. Completed by funny anecdotes about the songs, the odd folk tune or a nod towards their beloved Grunge era by way of Temple Of The Dog for instance.
‘How I didn’t turn out a dancer’ is the story of the Danish Punk & Hardcore scene during the years 1978-1988, as seen through the eyes of Kent. A story about almost boundless creativity, rebelling, violence, addiction and growing up the hard way. In 1980 Kent Nielsen, then in high school, was looking for a cure for small town traumas. Seeking refuge in the nearby Danish city of Odense, Kent soon found himself a new home in the growing local punk rock community, singing and performing with various punk and no wave bands. In 1985 he joined the Danish hardcore band L.U.L.L., who released two critically acclaimed albums during the late 80s, which helped define the sound of European Hardcore. Kent experienced 10 years that shaped him forever, the way it shaped all the kids who were part of this Punk and squatters scene. It’s amazing how many bands, fanzines, shows and happenings were coming out of this small, and apparently oh so cozy, country.
